Functional medicine utilizes the whole person not just a portion. For example, someone may come in with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). We don’t just treat them as a gastrointestinal patient; they’ll be treated as a complete patient. Their whole system works together — everything is connected.
Conditions that can benefit from Functional Medicine:
- Thyroid Dysfunction
- Gastrointestinal Issues
- Hormone Imbalances
- Chronic Autoimmune disorders
- And many more
What Should I Expect?
Your initial visit will be a 45-60 minute consultation with Dr. Waters. During this time you will discuss your medical history, previous interventions and individual diagnostics. An in-depth blood panel and toxic evaluation will be ordered for all functional medicine consults. These will aid in determining an individualized course of treatment.
The second visit will include a case report with Dr. Waters where all questions will be answered, and a course of treatment will be discussed. Follow-up visits will occur every 30 days, and re-evaluation of the course of treatment will be made.
